Program Requirements

The program cost is TBD, plus University fees of $240, totaling TBD. After you have applied for your desired program, you must make a deposit of $500 via ULINK. The $500 deposit is applied towards the cost of the program. The initial deadline to apply and pay the deposit is December 16. A $100 late fee will be charged after December 16. View .
Program cost includes tuition for 6 credit hours, lodging, field trips, insurance, and academic activities. Airfare and meals are not included in the program cost and must be purchased by the student.

Armed with a pocket-sized sketchbook, pens, and your curiosity, you’ll document your journey through text, sketches, doodles, maps, tickets, photos, and postcards. Capture everything from the sizzle of street food to your impressions of historic landmarks and bustling marketplaces. Along the way, enjoy hands-on cultural experiences, including a Korean cooking class and an introduction to K-pop dance.

No prior art experience is needed—workshops in travel journaling and drawing will guide students of all backgrounds. Whether you’re a Visual Arts major, an aspiring storyteller, or simply a curious traveler, this course offers a unique way to preserve the sights, sounds, and emotions of your unforgettable Seoul adventure.

Did you know that the Korean dragon has nine sons—each with its own personality and symbolic role? One appears on gate handles because he’s stubborn and dislikes anyone passing through, while another is engraved on swords because he loves to fight. These and other fantastical creatures are hidden throughout Korea’s palaces, temples, and ancient artifacts, acting as protectors and symbols of power, wisdom, and luck.

In this course, you’ll embark on a cultural scavenger hunt to discover and interpret these magical beings. Explore Korea’s art, architecture, and storytelling traditions through visits to palaces, temples, and museums. Through instructor-led tours, lectures, film screenings, and group discussions, you’ll uncover the fascinating stories behind these creatures—some fierce, some funny, and some downright goofy.

No prior experience in visual art or Korean culture is needed. This course is open to Visual Art majors and minors, as well as students from any discipline who are curious about culture, mythology, and creative storytelling.

Music Courses with Choi Chee Hyeon

From the global beats of BTS and the emotional soundscapes of K-dramas to the awe-inspiring piano performances of Korea’s rising classical stars, Korean music is capturing the world’s attention.
